We have all noticed that the fashion industry has changed, and the way in which we consume fashion has also changed. Instead of seeing something in a magazine, or indulging in inspiration from Vogue, girls are now more often than not drawing their #styleinspo from Instagram. At Madison Ave, we have focused on creating a captivating Instagram that showcases our inventory and unique styling ideas.

Our recent photoshoot was our biggest style showcase yet, proudly titled
Suburban Store City Chic.
Madison Ave of Melrose invaded our friend’s restaurant, Restaurant dante, on June 11th, with eight models, 4 cars and over $100,000 worth of inventory. We wanted to create a Summer LookBook featuring City Chic outfits perfect for a night out, dinner and drinks or just a day with the girls. The looks were all styled by Katie (owner of Madison Ave). Outfits ranged from $2o tops to $480 Herve Leger dresses. All outfits were accessorized with shoes from Madison Ave’s vast designer shoe collection and we brought all of our favorite bags.
Style in 2017 is all about how you wear it and not about who you wear. Mixing high and low prices and pieces is now more socially acceptable than ever before. What we love most about fashion and trends in 2017 is that you can wear a trendy dress that costs no more than $20 and style it with a $3000 Chanel bag. The look just works. In the past wearing a designer bag without a designer #ootd (outfit of the day) to accompany it would have been a fashion faux pas. Now where everything is about being on trend it is more than ok to wear your "investment bag" with your trendy dress from H&M.
Waverly wearing Jay Godfrey - Kyra wearing a $40 dress with a black Louis Vuitton $1600 - Trisha wearing an Armani Top $80 Tracy Reese Skirt $40 and a $5200 Chanel.
Style is less conservative nowadays everything we see is about individuality and having fun while expressing your unique personality at the same time. I think we really captured this with Trisha’s outfits. One of my favorite pictures is Trisha stepping off of the bar with $40 shoes a $40 Tracy Reese skirt $80 Armani crop top surrounded by Celine and Chanel bags. Another one of her nighttime looks included a $50 evening dress and a $600 YSL clutch.
We had sooo much fun styling these looks because we were able to get really creative. Most of the outfits really showcased our statement pieces especially our investment bags. All black outfits were accessorized with shoes that had the reddest bottoms. Instead of styling the models before the shoot we packed a rack of outfits for each model and mixed and matched outfits between.
